By email info@loughtonfencingclub.co.uk By telephone Aubrey Crick on 01992 522462 Finding Us Loughton Fencing Club meets at the sports hall of Debden Park High School, Willingale Rd, Loughton, Essex, IG10 2BQ. The nearest Underground station is Debden on the Central Line, which is around five minutes' walk from the venue. By tube central London is only 25 minutes away. There is plenty of car parking space at the school. We usually meet in the sports hall.
There is no pressure to enter competitions, but members may find that training for engagements with other sword fencing clubs provides focus and purpose to their sword fencing. Recent Competitions. In 2009, Loughton Fencing Club members entered the RLS Fencing Club Enfield Fencing Tournament at which a number of members won medals with two coming at the top of their categories. Below is a photograph of past entrants, many of whom were awarded medals. However, it is the taking part and not the winning which must always be remembered: experience is gained and those who might not win on one occasion live to fight another day - with more knowledge. ![]() n the spring of 2006 there was a further Enfield Fencing Tournament and once more the members of Loughton Fencing Club fared well, as the photograph below reveals.

Grants Recent Grants. Loughton Fencing Club secured grants recently from Epping Forest District Council and Loughton Town Council, which were used to purchase both electric and steam sword fencing equipment. Many thanks to those who provided the grants, which were most useful in developing the club and providing an opportunity for a greater number of local people to participate in sword fencing. Future Grants. Loughton Fencing Club is preparing grant applications to extend the activities of the club into more electric foil, electric sabre for the first time (which is the most expensive and elaborate form of electric sword fencing) and more electric epee. |
